Alex Najera showed a strong eye at the plate on Wednesday, walking three times while leading the Lombard Orioles to a 9-2 victory over the Kenosha Kings. The Lombard Orioles opened the scoring in the first after Trey Romay singled, driving in one run. A single by Najera extended the lead to 3-0 in the top of the second inning. The Orioles would score three more in the fifth, one in the eighth, and two in the ninth to pull away from the Kings, who only managed two hits in the game. Kevin Pauly started on the mound for the Lombard Orioles, giving up two hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out eight and walking two. Brandon Jeffrey took the loss for the Kenosha Kings, giving up six hits and five runs over four and one-third innings. The Lombard Orioles accumulated 10 hits in the game, with Danny Hopper and Eloy Suarez each collecting two hits. Luke Jackson led the Kenosha Kings with one run batted in, and the team stole five bases.
