The Kenosha Kings successfully defended their Wisconsin Class A Championship title this weekend, defeating the Green Bay Blue Ribbons in the tournament’s ultimate elimination game by a score of 5-2.

Kenosha’s path this year was more difficult than in 2023 when they swept their way through the tournament with a 3-0 record.

This year, the Kings were forced to advance through the losers bracket after losing a hotly contested extra inning contest to Green Bay on Saturday night.

Kenosha was more than up for the challenge, scoring ten runs in winning it’s first two games on Sunday to set up a third and final game against the Blue Ribbons. Green Bay took control early and held a 2-1 lead after five innings, but the Kings then responded with a single run that tied the game in the sixth and three more runs in the seventh put the game out of reach.

Kings catcher, Zach Lee, was named the MVP of tournament. Lee caught all five games over the two days and guided the team’s pitchers to a 2.50 ERA while also batting in the clean up spot and hitting .375 with six hits and four RBI’s.
