Nationals Sweep Kings Saturday

West Allis came out victorious with a pair of wins over Kenosha on Saturday.

West Allis built a four-run cushion and held off a late push from Kenosha to secure a 5-4 win. Brian Huntzinger powered the offense with a three-run homer in the third and finished with two hits and three RBIs, while Jack Zeller added an RBI single. Vince Gohlke struck out eight over six-plus innings to earn the win, and Santino Pignotti-Wojtak recorded the save. EJ Lewis and Zach Lee each delivered run-scoring hits for Kenosha, who came up just short after cutting into the lead with a pair of home runs.

Ashton Kampa was perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a homer, double, and three RBIs to lead West Allis past Kenosha 13-3. Dom Kibler opened the scoring with a solo shot in the first, and West Allis piled on from there with multi-run innings in the first, third, and fifth. Eli Roundtree added four RBIs, including a two-run double in the fifth. Bobby Barrera struck out seven over four and two-thirds innings to earn the win. Kenosha managed five hits and turned two double plays but couldn’t keep pace with the Nationals’ 13-hit attack.
