Orioles Win Wisconsin State League Championship

With their Saturday sweep of West Allis, the Lombard Orioles have claimed the 2025 Wisconsin State League Championship. It's their second consecutive Wisconsin State League title and their 27th league crown since joining the league in 1992.

With their Saturday sweep of West Allis, the Lombard Orioles have claimed the 2025 Wisconsin State League Championship. It’s their second consecutive Wisconsin State League title and their 27th league crown since joining the league in 1992.

Game One: Lombard Orioles (3), West Allis Nationals (2)
Lombard walked it off in the bottom of the seventh to edge West Allis 3-2. Wyatt Wawro delivered the game-winning RBI single after the Nationals had tied the game in the top half of the inning. John Fleaka drove in a run in the first, and Lombard’s pitching staff combined to allow just two runs (both unearned) on four hits. Mike Belbot earned the win in relief with two solid innings, while Vince Gohlke took the tough-luck loss for West Allis.

Lombard capped the doubleheader sweep with a dominant 12-2 win, scoring four runs in both the second and third innings to break the game open. Jake Troyner’s two-run homer in the second set the tone, and Charlie Parcell drove in three to lead a balanced offensive attack. Cody Freitas earned the win with three strong innings, and Wyatt Wawro added two scoreless frames in relief.
