Kings Start Season 2-0 After Weekend Sweep
June 1, 2026
Kenosha picks up two wins to start the 2026 campaign, including a walk-off in extra innings.
Kenosha Kings (5), Addison Braves (4)
Kenosha rallied from a two-run deficit to edge Addison 5-4 behind a four-run sixth inning. The Braves took an early lead when Hunter Johnson tripled in the first and later scored, then added two more runs in the fourth as Joe Stagowski tripled home Johnson before scoring on a JD Swarbrick single. Addison extended its advantage to 4-1 in the sixth when Stagowski delivered a two-run double. Kenosha answered immediately in the bottom half, beginning with Aaron Hurd’s game-tying three-run homer. After Harrison Garrett walked and Jared Bujdos reached base, Joel Katte lined a go-ahead RBI single to left to put the Kings in front for good. Stagowski led the Braves offensively, going 3-for-4 with a double, triple, three RBIs, and two runs scored, while Johnson added a triple and scored twice. For Kenosha, Hurd finished with a home run and three RBIs, Garrett tripled and scored twice, and Katte drove in the winning run. Ethan Warren earned the victory after allowing four runs over six innings, while Joseph Jaco worked a scoreless seventh to secure the save.
Kenosha Kings (5), Addison Braves (4, 8 innings)
Kenosha erased an early three-run deficit and walked off Addison 5-4 in eight innings. The Braves struck quickly in the first, capitalizing on a dropped third strike and several baserunners before Joe Stagowski delivered a two-run single and Wesley Blitz added an RBI single for a 3-0 lead. Kenosha answered with a run in the bottom of the inning on Jack Ryan’s RBI single, then gradually chipped away. Stagowski extended the Addison lead to 4-1 with a solo home run in the fifth, but the Kings responded with three runs in the bottom half, scoring on Ryan’s RBI single, a sacrifice fly from Josh Kellogg, and Joel Katte’s RBI single to tie the game at 4-4. Both teams threatened late, including Addison loading the bases in the seventh but failing to score. In the eighth, Kenosha took advantage of the international tiebreaker format as Kellogg’s single moved the winning run into scoring position before Gavin Fuscone issued consecutive free passes, forcing home the game-winning run. Stagowski led Addison by going 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBIs, and two runs scored, while Ryan drove in two runs for Kenosha and Katte collected the game-tying RBI. Will Friend earned the win with two scoreless innings of relief as the Kings completed the comeback in extra innings.
