Kenosha scored twice in the eighth inning to break a tie and defeat Lombard 5-3 in Wisconsin State League action. The Kings grabbed an early lead in the second when Jared Bujdos walked, stole third, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Hunter Smith. Kenosha added two more runs in the fifth on RBI singles from AJ Orrico and Ryne Lesnik to take a 3-0 advantage. Lombard answered with three runs over the fifth and seventh innings, highlighted by an RBI double from Constatine Coines and a run-scoring double by Jake Troyner that tied the game at 3-3. In the eighth, Orrico opened the inning with a bunt single, Lesnik reached on an error, and Bujdos delivered the go-ahead RBI single. A wild pitch later brought home Jack Ryan with what proved to be the insurance run. Bujdos finished 2-for-2 with two RBIs, two walks, and two stolen bases, while Orrico and Lesnik each collected two hits and drove in a run. Heath Mann earned the victory in relief, allowing just one hit over three scoreless innings while striking out six, including retiring Lombard on three strikeouts in the eighth.
