Kings Rally Past Nationals to Claim First Place in WSL Standings

Kenosha scored three unanswered runs and held off West Allis for a 3-2 victory in a matchup of Wisconsin State League leaders. The Nationals struck first in the opening inning when Chance Ruby tripled and scored on a Brian Huntzinger groundout, then extended the lead to 2-0 in the third on Ruby’s solo home run. Kenosha answered immediately in the bottom half, loading the bases before Jack Ryan delivered an RBI single and Tyler Martin followed with a sacrifice fly to tie the game. The contest remained deadlocked until the eighth inning when Jacob Schlesselman launched a solo home run to center field, giving the Kings their first lead of the night. Ruby accounted for much of West Allis’ offense, finishing 2-for-5 with a triple, home run, and both runs scored. Ryan drove in a run and Schlesselman supplied the game-winning homer for Kenosha, while Ethan Warren allowed two runs over six innings before Will Friend and Michael Stellmack combined for three scoreless innings of relief. The win moved Kenosha into sole possession of first place in the Wisconsin State League standings at 7-1, while West Allis slipped to 7-2.
