June 21, 2026
The Orioles got the better of the Nationals on Saturday, winning 5-2 and 7-0.
Lombard Orioles 5, West Allis Nationals 2
Joe Mrowiez went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, two RBI, and two runs scored as the Lombard Orioles defeated the West Allis Nationals 5-2. Mrowiez’s second-inning blast gave Lombard an early 2-0 lead before West Allis answered with solo home runs from Nick Argersinger and Chance Ruby to pull within 3-2. John Fleaka added an RBI single in the third, and the Orioles broke the game open in the sixth when an error, a balk, and a pair of bases-loaded walks helped plate two insurance runs. Tom McDermott tripled and scored for Lombard, while Caleb Thomson earned the win in relief and Connor Griffin tossed two scoreless innings to finish the game. Ruby and Argersinger accounted for both West Allis runs as the Nationals were limited to four hits.
Lombard Orioles 7, West Allis Nationals 0
The Lombard Orioles blanked the West Allis Nationals 7-0 behind a balanced offensive attack and a combined two-hit shutout from Brandon Pelz, Steve Hobbs, and Mike Sullivan. Lombard scored in the first inning on a passed ball before adding another in the fourth when John Fleaka scored during a double-play ball. Parker Reinke broke the game open in the seventh with a two-run homer, while Ryan Colucci added an RBI single, Evan Schmitt drove in a run with a double, and Derek Ittner contributed a sacrifice fly. Reinke finished with two hits, two RBI, and a home run, while Constatine Coines doubled, scored twice, and stole two bases. West Allis managed just two hits, singles by Dom Kibler and Brian Huntzinger, as the Lombard pitching staff struck out six and did not allow a run.
