West Allis used an early offensive surge and dominant relief pitching to defeat Kenosha 5-1 Tuesday night in Wisconsin State League action. The Nationals scored once in the first inning before adding two runs in both the second and third to build a 5-0 advantage. Cameron Carter led the offense by going 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI, while Chance Ruby and Zach Rizzo also doubled and Rob Coe and Rizzo each drove in a run. Kenosha’s only run came in the third when Jack Ryan singled home Tyler Martin, but that was all the Kings could muster. Joe Roundtree worked the first four innings before Vince Gohlke earned the win with four scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while striking out eight. Santino Pignotti-Wojtak closed the game with a perfect ninth inning as West Allis improved to 8-4 and Kenosha fell to 9-4.
