Kenosha Kings Rally Past West Allis Nationals in 13-Inning Thriller

The Kenosha Kings erased multiple late deficits before scoring the winning run in the bottom of the 13th inning to outlast the West Allis Nationals 14-13 in a Wisconsin State League marathon Friday night. West Allis built an early 9-0 lead, highlighted by Aaron Goecks’ three-run homer in the third, but Kenosha answered with five runs in the bottom half of the inning and continued chipping away. Aaron Hurd led the comeback with two home runs and five RBIs, tying the game with a two-run blast in the seventh before adding a solo homer in the ninth. West Allis regained the lead twice, including on Tyrese Mitchell’s two-run homer in the eighth and Mitchell’s RBI double in the 12th. Mitchell finished with two doubles, a home run, and six RBIs, while Goecks added a homer, double, and four RBIs for the Nationals. Kenosha forced extra innings by capitalizing on an error in the ninth, then completed the comeback in the 13th when Jacob Schlesselman reached on an error that allowed Hurd to score the winning run.
