Green Bay Tops Kenosha to Advance to WSL Tournament Championship

The Green Bay Blue Ribbons built an early five-run lead and held off a late Kenosha rally for a 7-4 victory in the Wisconsin State League Tournament. Brayden Pleau drove in the game’s first run with a triple in the opening inning before scoring on a Boone Kirst double, and Green Bay added another run before the inning ended. Pleau doubled home a run and later scored in the second as the Blue Ribbons stretched their advantage to 5-0. Kenosha was held scoreless through six innings before Josh Kellogg delivered an RBI double in the seventh, and the Kings added two more runs on wild pitches in the eighth. Green Bay answered with an insurance run in each of the sixth and eighth innings, with Jake Petasek driving in the final run. Pleau finished with a triple, double, two RBIs, and two runs scored, while Kirst added two doubles and two RBIs. Parker Lawson earned the win with 4⅔ innings of relief. Green Bay will face Sheboygan in the championship Sunday at 2:30 p.m., while Kenosha will meet West Allis in the third-place game at 11 a.m.
