The Wisconsin State League (WSL), also known as the Wisconsin State Baseball League, was established in 1970 and is widely regarded as one of the premier semi-professional baseball leagues in the Midwest.
The league showcases many of the region’s top players, including current college athletes, former collegiate standouts, and players with professional baseball experience.
All WSL franchises operate as non-profit organizations and are managed by volunteers within their local communities. Teams compete in a 25–30 game Wisconsin State League regular season that runs from late May through late July or early August. Most WSL teams also participate in additional regional leagues and competitions, bringing their total summer schedule to anywhere from 35 to 65 games.
The league currently includes six active franchises: the Addison (Illinois) Braves, Green Bay Blue Ribbons, Kenosha Kings, Lombard (Illinois) Orioles, Sheboygan A’s, and the West Allis Nationals.
