Saturday Recap: Nationals and Braves Split Doubleheader

The Addison Braves managed to walk away with a win in game, while the Nationals came out swinging to take game two.

WEST ALLIS, WI – The Braves and Nationals managed to walk away with one win each in doubleheader.
The Addison Braves attempted to take the lead late in game one on Saturday scoring one run in the top of the fifth, thanks to Matt Kostro hitting a ground ball single to center field, scoring one run.
The lead was short lived. The West Allis Nationals managed to tie the game quickly scoring on an error in the bottom of the fifth.
Unfortunately for the Nationals, the Braves took the lead for good in the top of the sixth when Luke Lucchetti hit a double driving in the two winning runs.
Game two did not play out as nicely for the Braves.
The Braves managed to score one run in the top of the first, but the Nationals came swinging scoring four in the bottom of the first.
Evan Spry and Kyle Kalkopf singled on line drives to right field scoring two runs each.
West Allis continued adding runs to their lead, scoring five more in the fifth.
Brian Huntzinger hit a double to center field scoring three runs, Evan Spry hit a line drive single to enter field scoring one and Curt Pryal hit line drive single to left field scoring one run.
Heading to the top of the sixth the Nationals lead the Braves 9-2.
The Braves tried their hardest to make a comeback scoring four runs in the sixth.
J Zielinkski hit a line drive single to left field scoring one run, J Zielinkski scored on an error by the National’s catcher and Luke Lucchetti singled on a fly ball to center field scoring two runs.
Unfortunately that was not enough for the Braves to win. The Nationals took game two 9-6.
