Kenosha takes down Burlington, Sheboygan defeats De Pere.
Kenosha Kings 8 – 2 Burlington Barons
The Burlington Barons got things started in the first inning when Aaron Chapman grounded out, scoring one run. The Kenosha Kings took the lead and kept it in the fifth inning when Zach Campbell induced Alex Rodriguez to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored and Travis Vanderwall drew a walk, scoring one run. The Kings scored three runs in the ninth inning. The Kings big bats were led by Vanderwall and Graham Wick, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Jason Bunton took the win for the Kings, who surrendered two runs on two hits over eight innings, striking out seven. Brennan Ray threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Sheboygan A’s 14 – 2 De Pere Dodgers
The Dodgers got off to a good first inning when Jayden Adrians drove in one run when he singled. Unfortunately for them, the A’s answered back and took a hefty lead in the third with six runs. Mark Wanner drew a walk, scoring one run, Harry Steldt doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs, Jake Arens singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, and Jimmy Juergensen singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
They then repeated this in the seventh inning, scoring another six runs. The A’s batters contributing to the big inning included Wanner, Steldt, TD Walker, Arens, and Logan Vietmeier, who all drove in runs. Drew Nuanes took the win for the A’s. He surrendered two runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out five.
