Grand Slam Lifts Nationals Over A’s
July 17, 2020
A seventh inning grand slam lifted the Nationals to an 8-3 victory over Sheboygan Thursday night.
West Allis Nationals 8, Sheboygan A’s 3
The Nationals’ Griffin Doershing came to the plate with the bases loaded in the seventh inning. He hit a foul pop fly that never left the batter’s circle, but the A’s catcher lost the ball in the lights and it fell in foul territory. The next pitch, Doershing crushed the ball to left-center and over the wall as the Nationals left Sheboygan with an 8-3 victory. The Nationals sent six pitchers to the mound in the winning effort, with reliever Antonio Valadez being credited with the victory, pitching one inning of relief. Bryce Lovisa took the loss for Sheboygan, going five innings, surrendering four runs (two earned) in his appearance.
