The World Series finale between the Buffalo Battistoni Diesel (N.Y.) and the Lombard Orioles (Ill.) was an offensive clinic – a contest which saw competing teams combine for 25-plus hits and 10 runs scored, but it was the Diesel out-hitting the Orioles and winning, 7-3.

Miscues and missed opportunities may have cost the Sheboygan A’s their season Saturday night. The team lost game two of their championship series against Menasha 4-3, complete with an array of errors and near misses.

Despite threatening late, the Sheboygan A’s couldn’t overcome a 4-1 deficit, falling to the Menasha A’s and going down 1-0 in the series.

With a 7-1 victory over Appleton, the Sheboygan A's advanced to the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League Championship for the third straight season. In the other NEWBL semi-final, the Oshkosh Giants fell to Menasha 6-0.

The Oshkosh Giants opened up the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League playoffs with a win Sunday night, topping the Green Bay Storm 11-1 in seven innings.

The Oshkosh Giants picked up a dominating 36-3 win over Manitowoc in their regular season finale on Thursday.

Another huge offensive explosion by the Sheboygan A’s afforded them a comfortable lead early, but a seven-run inning meant the team’s recent string of routs continued with a 16-2 win over Green Bay.

Spurred on Tuesday night by an energetic Acuity 5-Year Club group and “Fan Appreciation Night” crowd, the Sheboygan As posted their fifth straight win with four of them being mercy rule wins.

The Appleton Legends defeated the Oshkosh Giants in Northeastern Baseball League action on Monday, defeating Oshkosh 5-1.
