Former Oshkosh Giants pitcher Joe Pavlovich (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) has signed a professional deal to continue his career with the Southern Illinois Miners of the Frontier League.

Seven WSL games were played over the weekend, with the Kenosha Kings and West Allis Nationals each getting two important wins, and the Sheboygan A's sweeping the weekend from the Addison Braves.

“Bud Light Night” at Wildwood Baseball Park brought in a nice crowd to watch the A’s take on the Manitowoc Bandits in Northeastern Wisconsin League action Friday night.

West Allis plated three runs in the third inning to take the lead over Sheboygan, and the A’s weren’t able to make up any ground over the remaining innings, falling to the Wisconsin State League Northern Division-leading Nationals 5-3 Thursday.

West Bend 7 Up improved to 4-6 in the WSL with a 9-1 victory over Oshkosh on Wednesday night.

In the only WSL action Tuesday night, the Sheboygan A's defeated West Bend 7 Up 8-4.

Former Sheboygan A's pitcher Gunnar Eastman (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) has signed a minor league free agent contract with the Toronto Blue Jays.

Oshkosh Giant's 2012 team MVP Michael Polycn has signed a minor league contract with the St. Louis Cardinals.

In WSL action, Sheboygan and Lombard split a doubleheader, while Addison and Northern Illinois were rained out of their scheduled doubleheader.

There are 26 current professional baseball players who have once spent time with the teams of the Wisconsin State League. Hopefully, in the near future, that number will increase; there is high promise with the few who were selected in this year’s MLB Draft.
